I'm glad you posted this. I've been wanting to bring this up for a while.
Me too. I also think it's strange that somehow the same who folks can live with this cognitive dissonance get their britches all is a twist about dinosaurs...
I think it has something to do with work ethic...I think a lot of LDS people think socialism and communism promote laziness, whereas living the law of consecration requires a strong work ethic...Of course, I'm not a theologian or a political history expert so don't know...
