Driving Force

The other day I was driving in the car with my family. I was thirsty but to grab my drink, twist off the lid and take a big swig would require the use of both of my hands. So I did what all cool guys would do and steered the car with my knees for a stretch.

After I returned my drink to the cupholder and my hands to the wheel I noticed my wife was staring at me. I prepared myself for an earful of how I was foolish to put the lives of my family members at risk just so I could get a little refreshment. To my surprise my wife just said, "I've never been able to do that."

And I felt better about life.

Me and my husband were just having a conversation sorta like that the other day.
Me: Remember when you would have me steer the car while you took off your sweatshirt, or while you reached behind the seat to change CDs, or while you ate?
Him: Yeah
Me: We must be growing up because we don't do that anymore. Now we pull over instead of putting ourselves/others at risk.

Your wife needs to get some coordination. Seriously, it's not that hard to do. Tell her to learn how to stear with her knee while talking on the cell phone, eating a Wendy's chicken sandwich, and changing the CD all at the same time. Then she can regain my respect.

Ditto...I steer with my knees at least once a week...not hard, but I would kill my teenager for doing it... :)

Well, I'm sure you learned it from Mark. He could talk on the radio, sip coffee, smoke a cigarette, talk on the cell phone, and drive, all at the same time. Shebamtnwoman
