Ear-nema?

Someone told me, a long time ago, that cleaning your ears with Q-tips pushes wax deeper into your ear where you cannot get it out and that, instead, you should buy some ear-cleaning kit with a turkey-baster thing and ear-cleaning solution to flush it all out.

Does anyone actually do that? I like cleaning my ears with Q-tips.

I think Q-tips do a good job...so as long as you can hear, I wouldn't worry about trying the kit. One of my sisters has to have hers done every so often.... we know it's time when she starts talking REALLY LOUD. I'm sure your wife will let you know. ;)

You just have to be smart about it - if you go around the outside edge of your ear (like a normal person) you should be fine. It's when you have a big glob of wax and just shove it on in there that you're going to run into problems.

yeah..even then you can get a bobby pin and gently scrape it out...just don't put the bobby pin in too far or it will puncture your eardrum... I like Q-Tips too...

This blog cracked me up, because I remember having this exact conversation with you 9, no maybe 11 (ee-gads!) years ago. Ah the good things (like ear wax) just never change.

Q-tips are fine... nothing bad has happened so far :)

I've heard the same thing about q-tips. Whenever I have a hard time hearing something, I get all paranoid that there is a big old wax cork plugging up my ear canal from all my years of q-tip usage. By the way, you can use regular old hydrogen peroxide to flush the gunk out of your ears. If you think q-tips are fun, try some foaming H2O2 down there!

Ear-nema is pretty good, by the way. If you like cleaning your ears with q-tips so much, do you have little ear-gasms?

My dad is always using his keys. I've never been able to bring myself to try it.

Do you ever think its funny that you write these great heart-felt blogs and get 2 comments, but then you write a few lines about earwax and everybody has something to say!

I bet the earwax is good for the tumblers in the locks too. And YES, I think people comment on the strangest things.
