He let the contents of the bottle do the thinking
You can't shake the devil's hand and say you're only kidding
This is where the party ends
I just sit here wondering how you
Can stand by your racist friend
The Giants didn't write that song about Mel but the words seem to fit. For the record, that family that we visit in Denver is Jewish and in my experience with them I have never known them to be people who plot or provoke war. In fact, the last time we saw them they gave us a present. One may go so far as to call it a "Christmas present." Either that or they jipped us out of 7 Hannukah gifts.
I almost used a slur there instead of saying "jipped," but I didn't. See how easy it is to step up and be the bigger man and not say mean-spirited things? Huh? Do you? Drunkee?

The sad thing about alcoholism is it makes good people say and do things they normally wouldn't do. Not an excuse, but isn't alcoholism a horrible disease?
I don't think this is the first time Mel's ever said anything negative about the Jews. I remember there being something about it in the news when his 'Passion of the Christ' came out.
Of course, I have a friend who is Jewish, so now I get to harrass him about starting all the wars in the world. For that I owe Mel a thank you. Telling him to give me his little bag of Jew gold every time I saw him (a la Eric Cartman) was starting to get a little old. Wait, no it wasn't.
Oh, and thanks for getting that song stuck in my head.
I just hope the Jewish community will take his apology (whether it was sincere or not) and show him that they can be the "bigger man" so to speak...
Does one comment really have to affect the whole world? He said Sorry which is more than most people would have said...he's probably a good man who has made mistakes and said things he didn't mean. I'm sure we've all been guilty of that.
I would like to personally apologize for all those times that I drove my car 90 mph through town while intoxicated.
It does feel good to get that off your chest.
Sorry Alpha, but you can't tell me that you'd accept the apology if it was just some white trash neighbor of yours who was pulled over for drunk driving in your neighborhood and started yelling out racist or anti-semitic things. You'd think the guy was a loser, and would probably want him to have to face very stiff fines and/or jail time. Why should it be any different with someone just because he's a celebrity?
What, white trash can't feel bad and apologize?
I hate that people drive drunk. I do, I hate all of the innocent people that die and get hurt every year because of it. I'm just sayin...wouldn't it suck if your worst moment was video taped and played all over the world? Think of your worst moment...
Yeah...my worst moment would definitely not be well-received by the masses...
